The AXIS Broad Spectrum Carve (BSC) Foil set up is the ultimate all-rounder and beginning of your foiling journey.

For the BSC range AXIS have completely changed the outline from the Original Series, increasing the aspect ratio and reducing the thickness for vastly improved speed and glide, while incorporating what they had learned from the HPS project in turn down and twist for optimum turning. However, like the Original, they developed a foil section with a high stall angle. This means it still operates well at slow speeds, so will be forgiving if you make a mistake gybing on a Wind or Wing foil. It will also get you up easily and keep you foiling when surfing slow or weak waves.

The result is a foil that has an incredibly wide range of operation – the ultimate all-rounder. One day you could be foiling tiny waves on your SUP, the next you could be screaming across the harbour with a hand wing, all on the same foil.

BSC foils are ideally matched with the Freeride SmallFreerideProgressive or Speed rear wing ranges.

Not sure what you need or looking for a different set up? Get in touch to discuss alternative options.

AXIS BSC Foil includes:

*Doodad adapter and foil base plate only required for aluminium masts

  • 970 Red – the all levels wing for all styles and levels of riding.
  • 890 Black – faster, more technical wings, designed for riders looking for higher performance.
  • 810 Black – faster, more technical wings, designed for riders looking for higher performance.
  • 740 Black – faster, more technical wings, designed for riders looking for higher performance.

NOTE:
The 1120-1060-970 wings are only compatible with AXIS Red Fuselages.
The 890-810-740 wings are only compatible with AXIS Black Fuselages.

Rear Wings in the BSC Series:

Fuselages in the BSC Series:

Available in multiple sizes for different types of riding – the longer the fuselage the more stable the ride / the shorter the fuselage the looser and quicker the turning.

Aluminium Masts in the BSC Series:

AXIS Aluminium Masts are stiff, strong, and ready for any use and conditions. Designed to give foilers a very direct feeling to their foil which is critical for foiling.

  • 105cm – great for big swell downwinders
  • 90cm – the choice of big wave enthusiasts and tow-ins, when combined with the S-Series 680 front wing. It’s also the choice of downwinder pros when competing in open ocean swell.
  • 82cm – the ultimate length if you find the 75cm just a bit too short and the 90cm slightly too long. Perfect for higher performance riding on Surf, tow-in, Wake, Pump, SUP, Wing or Kite.
  • 75cm – used on bigger surf, downwinders and more advanced riding with the S-Series foil.
  • 68cm – most common foil mast length for prone surf foiling and all round SUP.
  • 60cm – most common mast that you will start putting hours on. Some riders might never need a taller mast, depending on their style, local conditions or discipline.
  • 45cm – ideal for your first flights, while you are learning how to foil or in shallower waters.

Carbon Masts in the BSC Series:

Whether winging at speed, laying deep carves on a wave face or pumping and linking up swells on a downwinder. AXIS Power Carbon masts enter a new realm of control and connection between board and foil.

The new AXIS Power Carbon masts are available in two models, the Power Carbon and Power Carbon – High Modulus, the latter providing additional strength and 35% more bend resistance than our industry-leading 19mm aluminium mast. The High Modulus will be the mast of choice for the most discerning rider seeking ultimate performance, and heavier riders using our larger span foils.

  • 102cm – For wide high aspect front foils, big wave and tow-ins, wing foil, wind foil and kite foil.
  • 90cm – For wide high aspect front foils, big wave and tow-ins, downwinder pros in open ocean, great for wing foil, wind and kite foil.
  • 82cm – Ideal for bigger surf, downwinders and advanced riding with all foils.
  • 75cm – For wing foil or a great ‘surfy’ option for kit foiling, good for shallow areas.

Hover Wing Foil Board Size

Below is a rough guide to help determine Hover Wing Foil board size based on rider weight and skill level. A “beginner” rider is considered as someone with no previous board sport experience.

Keep in mind that additional factors, such as wind conditions, foil, and kite wing size will play an important role in the selection of the right board size.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend erring on the side of a more buoyant board with a volume that matches rider weight (for example, an 80kg rider will need at least an 80L board or larger). Riding a “sinker” will work in locations with steady, strong winds, while floatier boards prove to be a safer choice as they allow the rider to get back to shore even if the wind drops under a foilable limit.
