F-ONE Phantom Carbon Foil

Call for price

Configuration as recommended by F-ONE but you can contact us if you need an alternative set up.

SKU: F120-PHANTOM-CARBON Categories: , ,

The foils of the Phantom line are designed to glide effortlessly when pumping or connecting waves and then prove very agile and precise when surfing.

  • Speed and glide
  • Pumping/downwind machine
  • Nimble and manoeuvrable

Package Includes

  • Phantom Carbon foil plane (front wing, fuselage, stabilizer)
  • Optional extra: Aluminium or Carbon Mast (top plate and mast foot are required with the Aluminium mast)
  • EVA covers

The PHANTOM CARBON Hydrofoil

Using a refined design to achieve higher finesse, the Phantom foils glide faster and for longer. Connecting waves whether during surfing or downwinding thereby becomes much easier and more fun. Yet, connecting waves isn’t much fun if you can’t turn and this is why carving is also part of the DNA of the Phantom foils. By working on the lift distribution, arch shape and other details we achieved a high-aspect, performance foil that can carve smooth curves on the waves and swells.

Built using the Monobloc construction with pre-preg carbon, the foils are both very light and really strong. This set-up offers better load transmission and better stiffness throughout the different parts for maximum control. The Titan connection allows to plug both an aluminium or carbon mast and the fuselage is split in two parts to facilitate transportation.

The Phantom wings are recommended with the C275 Surf stab. This stabilizer offers better glide and a looser feel. It’s the ideal match for the speed and glide of the Phantom wings. The looser feel will help turning these higher aspect wings and provide an awesome surfing experience.

TITAN CONNECTION

The TITAN connection enables a very stiff and direct connection between two parts, locking efficiently any movement in all directions. Its format is compact which is hydrodynamically friendly and very easy to use, assemble and disassemble.

PRE-PREG

With Pre-preg fabrics, the carbon fiber is directly impregnated with epoxy resin by its manufacturer; this guarantees a perfect ratio between epoxy and carbon, and represents the highest quality process.

Quality control is much better and so is the working environment for the people building our foils. Pre-Preg fabrics offer the lightest weight with the best mechanical properties of carbon fiber.

MONOBLOC

Having a stiff and solid assembly between all the parts of the foil, is key to making it perform at its best as well as easy to handle.

The connection of the front wing with the fuselage is highly stressed and loaded, it is one of the critical area of the assembly in terms of structures. The MONOBLOC wings are molded together with the fuselage in one shot, thereby removing the connection and the chances for unwanted and parasitic movements. The structural fibers of the fuselage are spread into the wing to achieve the most natural, sound and light connection.

It is also incredibly stiff and provides absolute control at all times, with the foil responding perfectly to all of the riders input. When the overall dimensions are too large for convenient transportation, a connection is set into the fuselage, behind the mast where the loads are smaller.

Hover Wing Foil Board Size

Below is a rough guide to help determine Hover Wing Foil board size based on rider weight and skill level. A “beginner” rider is considered as someone with no previous board sport experience.

Keep in mind that additional factors, such as wind conditions, foil, and kite wing size will play an important role in the selection of the right board size.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend erring on the side of a more buoyant board with a volume that matches rider weight (for example, an 80kg rider will need at least an 80L board or larger). Riding a “sinker” will work in locations with steady, strong winds, while floatier boards prove to be a safer choice as they allow the rider to get back to shore even if the wind drops under a foilable limit.
