The OZONE Liteforce Wing, designed to get you out there in the lighter conditions. For those familiar with the kite range, this is the equivalent of the Zephyr, and it has similar characteristics – great light wind performance, but also a huge range and it is a lot of fun thanks to its easy handling.
Liteforce – easy power and handling for maximum lightwind fun
Available in two, powerful sizes of 6.6m and 7.7m, both are packed with low end grunt to allow for super early planing, while the low drag handling also allows for remarkable levels of comfort at the top end of the wing’s range.
The carefully developed compact planform means that the tips are less likely to catch the water during manoeuvres, allowing for maximum freeride fun, however light the conditions.Tuned to get you riding and cranking upwind in the lightest winds
- Tuned to get you riding and cranking upwind in the lightest winds
- Compact design for low end torque and control
- Pre-loaded leading edge with optimised sail shaping
- Tight, clean and efficient sail with huge wind range
- Powerful pumping with a very direct, sporty, lightweight feel
- Low-drag aerodynamics give sense of riding a smaller size wing
Huge range and an unreal feel from a big wing
Allowing for excellent aerodynamic performance with a longer lasting shape, the proven supportive structure of the 125g performance dacron on the leading edge and strut helps the Liteforce manage wind speeds beyond the limits these big wings would otherwise have.
Using a performance dacron material that is rigid and strong has allowed designers to pre-load the leading edge so that its shape will have far less deformation under load. Giving you the confidence to session during periods that the wind may pick up, knowing you will still be able to hold on with more comfort and control.
Rider Guidance – which size should I choose:
While both Liteforce wings have a large overall area, they are specifically designed with a compact planform to make handling and manoeuvring as easy as possible. Here’s some basic guidance to help you choose the right size:
175cm / 5’9’’ OR TALLER?
Riders of this height will have no problem handling either the 6.6 or 7.7m. Their choice will be dictated by how important the extra pure low end power of the 7.7m will be; either enabling them to ride in the absolute lightest possible winds, or to give them more of an advantage if they’re a particularly heavy rider.
BETWEEN 165cm / 5’5’’ AND 175cm / 5’9’’?
We’d recommend the 6.6m. As well as being easier to handle, it will provide more than enough power.
OPTIMISED SAIL SHAPING AND DIRECT CONTROL
The optimised sail shaping and horizontal panels mean that each seam, from strut to tip, creates a stronger line connection in the sail, distributing the load better along the warp of the fabric, reducing canopy stretch over time.
The ergonomic carbon fibre handles with EVA grip provide a super-direct connection for more control in all situations. They also ensure you get every ounce of power from each pump of the wing!
The combination of all these features contribute to the Liteforce’s light and agile feeling and unbeatable range.
FLY 6 & 7M COMPARISON
The Liteforce is quite similar in profile and shape to the Fly, but is
- More performance oriented with stiffer and lighter weight dacron material on the leading edge and strut (like the Flux).
- The Liteforce also has rigid carbon handles (the Fly has soft handles), so has a more connected feel, but also offers more hand control, especially when the wind is very light.
FLUX 6.5M COMPARISON
- The Liteforce wings have more pure low end grunt for easy power generation in light winds.
- The Liteforce wings also have less span than the Flux from tip-to-tip which makes it easier to prevent the tips touching the water.
- The Flux is a more performance-inspired design, capable of higher top speeds and tighter upwind riding angles, but will take a more developed technique to pump the Flux for power in very light winds.
